Bingo
is a timeless game enjoyed throughout the United States where
players try to match a set of randomly-drawn numbers on a set
of bingo cards (containing numbers in a 5 x 5 grid based on the
75 numbers in the game). If a player marks a set of numbers on
one of his or her cards that matches the bingo game's current
pattern (and presses the BINGO! button), that player wins the
game.
1. A person must be 18 years of age or older to purchase satellite bingo cards, to play the satellite bingo game and be awarded a satellite bingo prize.
2. Each bingo card (face) will cost $1.00.
3. All cards must be completely sealed when purchased. Any unsealed cards must be returned at the time of purchase.
4. Refunds will only be allowed for cards damaged by the printer and must be requested prior to the start of the satellite game. There will be no refund for cards marked with a dobber.
5. The satellite bingo game is an odd/even full card (also known as a coverall or blackout) game determined by the date.
6. The satellite bingo game is played at approximately the same time in each event as determined by Alberta Satellite Bingo.
7. A main prize will be awarded to the first verified bingo(s).
8. A bonus prize will be awarded to a verified bingo(s) within the first 10 or less bingo numbers called by the satellite bingo caller. The number of bingo numbers required may be increased at the discretion of Alberta Satellite Bingo with the approval of the Alberta Gaming & Liquor Commission.
9. There will be a consolation prize in each hall awarded to the first verified bingo after the main prize has been won.
10. Each player must have a valid cash register receipt with the bingo hall’s minimum purchase to play the satellite bingo game. The receipt must be in full view at all times and cannot be split or shared.
11. Anyone found in possession of tampered satellite bingo cards can be prosecuted under the Criminal Code of Canada.
12. Satellite bingo cards must be played in the hall in which they were purchased and during the same event (session) they were purchased or they will be disqualified.
13. The satellite bingo game caller will announce the official minimum main prize at the beginning or during the broadcast of the satellite bingo game. This will be the only main prize and supersede any other announced or posted prize.
14. It is the player’s responsibility to notify the hall bingo caller of a bingo. The hall caller will in turn notify the satellite bingo caller to stop the game for the called bingo.
15. The hall bingo caller must hear and alert the satellite bingo caller who must in turn recognize bingos before they will be honoured. Unless the hall caller hears the bingo and alerts the satellite bingo game caller of the bingo, the game will continue and the bingo will be recognized after the next ball has been called.
16. Once bingo has been declared by the satellite bingo game caller, the satellite bingo game caller will ask 3 times if there are any other bingos, then close the game.
17. Once the satellite caller has closed the game and announced the number of bingos eligible for the main prize, no other bingo(s) will be honoured.
18. Satellite bingo cards must be marked so the card is readable. The series number, control number and card number must be visible on a card for it to be a winning card
19. A ball is not officially called until both the letter and the number of the ball have been completely called by the satellite game caller. Flash boards are not official, only the balls announced by the satellite game caller are in play.
20. Recognized bingos on the main prize will be verified in the following manner:
· the player shall bring the proposed winning satellite
game card to the hall caller;
· the player will present the satellite card and a valid
admission receipt to the hall caller;
· the hall caller observed by two other staff/volunteers
will inform the satellite bingo caller of the control number,
series number, colour and card number on the bingo card;
· the satellite game caller will verify the control number,
series number and colour and enter the card number into the verifier;
and
· if the bingo is a verified bingo, the satellite caller
will announce the number of winners and the prize to each winner.
21. If no called bingo is verified as a good bingo, the satellite bingo game caller will re-open the satellite bingo game and recognize any other bingo(s) before proceeding to call the next ball.
22. Current identification (ID) must be shown to claim the prizes. The winner must provide name, address and telephone number and sign the winning card to be eligible to claim a prize.
23. Payment of prize(s) is valid only on satellite bingo cards sold in the event on the day of the game and played in the hall in which purchased. They will require correct colour, and series, control and card numbers.
24. If there is more than one verified winner on any prize (main, consolation or bonus) of the game, the prize will be divided equally among the winners. All prizes will be rounded up to the nearest dollar.
25. Any complaints or disputes will be handled by the local management in consultation with the management of the satellite bingo game. The most equitable solution for all customers will be reflected in their decision.
26. Main and Bonus prizes will be paid by cheque within 24 hours at the hall in which the prize was won.
27. Hall consolation prizes will be paid immediately after verification of the bingo by the bingo hall caller and staff/volunteers.
28. In case an event is stopped in a bingo hall, all players who produce a valid admission slip, will be refunded based on the number of eligible satellite bingo cards returned.
29. The satellite bingo game is subject to change without notice and, where necessary, with the approval of the Alberta Gaming and Liquor Commission.
